Today we get to know another member of our technical team, Brad Rodda, who joined us mid-2017 in our workshop.
As a technical assistant my role largely involves being involved in new builds and handling repairs, but I also take care of the order fulfilment and technical enquiries.
WHAT IS YOUR ROLE AT THE MELBOURNE WATCH COMPANY?
After coming onboard at MWC I found a lot of my repair and assembly skills were easily transferred from my previous positions and existing interests. Any gaps in my knowledge and a proper understanding of the specialised tools were taught to me by Mason, our Technical Manager.
WHERE DID YOU DEVELOP THE SKILLS REQUIRED TO BE A WATCHMAKER?
WHAT WATCHES DO YOU USUALLY WEAR AND WHAT IS YOUR FAVOURITE MELBOURNE WATCH?I normally wear my watches in rotation to keep things different. My Favourite would have to be either the Avalon for the tech design and open heart dial or the Parkville for the overall quality and stunning leaf hands.
WHAT DO YOU ENJOY THE MOST ABOUT WORKING FOR MWC?I love the flexibility offered with the role, allowing me to operate on a roster that lets me set a perfect work life balance, as well as the opportunity to work for and help grow a Melbourne based brand into a leading watch company all in a relaxed welcoming atmosphere.
